Data protection information according to Art. 13 GDPR for the AHK World Conference

1. Description of the processing activity

The data protection information is provided in connection with the processing of your personal data for the registration, organisation and implementation of our event "AHK World Conference 2025". Without your data, we are unfortunately unable to process your registration.

4. Purposes and legal basis of processing

Your data will be processed in order to receive your registration for events and to organise and conduct the event.

Your data will be processed primarily on the basis of Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR - contract. Please note that photos and/or films will be taken at the event. The processing of the photos/films is based on Article 6 (1) (e) GDPR in conjunction with § 3 German Federal Data Protection Act.  

During registration, the following personal data will be processed: Salutation, title, first name, last name, email address, institution/organisation/company, workshop participation. 

The conference will be held as an in-person event. The following programme items will be streamed live and broadcasted on the DIHK website: 

  • 13 May 2025, Festive Evening (video stream and stage recording)


During the live stream and recording, the cameras are pointed at the stage. Consent will be obtained in advance from the data subjects who will be recorded on stage. In this regard, the data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR - consent.

Surveys on conference-related topics and content will be conducted at the conference. Participation in and use of surveys is voluntary and anonymous, the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, consent. For the surveys, we use the Slido service from Cisco Systems, Inc. based in California, USA. We do not process any personal data in the surveys themselves, only the Slido service collects the data required for the use of its website, see the provider's privacy policy at https://www.slido.com/terms#privacy-statement.

5. Recipients or categories of recipients of the personal data

Your personal data will be transmitted to:

  • DIHK and DIHK DEinternational GmbH employees responsible for the organisation and implementation of the event.
  • external service providers who are engaged for the organisation and implementation of the event,
  • and to our service providers for technical support of the applications.


6. Transfer of personal data to a third country

There are no plans to transfer personal data to a third country without an adequate level of data protection.
Your data will be provided via a web application on the Internet. The confidentiality, integrity (inviolability), authenticity (genuineness) and availability of the personal data therefore cannot  be guaranteed. Your data can also be accessed via the web application in third countries that do not have data protection regulations comparable to those of the Federal Republic of Germany.

7. Duration of storage of personal data

Data is deleted in compliance with the statutory retention periods, in relation to invoicing after ten years.

In addition, your other personal data will be deleted when it is no longer required for the purposes for which it was processed. In the case of the AHK World Conference, this takes place after the organisation of the next AHK World Conference, which regularly takes place every two years.

8. Data subject rights

According to the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you are entitled to the following rights:
 

  • If your personal data is processed, you have the right to receive information about the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR).
  • If incorrect personal data is processed, you have the right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR).
  • If the legal requirements are met, you may request erasure or restriction of processing, as well as object to processing (Art. 17, 18 and 21 GDPR). However, we will then no longer be able to communicate with you as a participant in the event.
  • If you have consented to the data processing and the data processing is carried out with the help of automated procedures, you may have a right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).


If you make use of your above-mentioned rights, DIHK will check whether the legal requirements for those are met.
